DL recommends the following:

Ferriss, Timothy, The 4-Hour Workweek, Crown Publishers, New York, 2009– Ferriss provides a step-by-step process to break free from the traditional workplace, encouraging readers to automate their lifestyles in order to free up time to pursue their true passions, and to enable them to work remotely from any location. By using Ferriss’s process to liberate yourself from the bonds that confine you to a single location, you are less dependent upon the whims of government–if you feel that your personal liberty or freedom is being threatened or infringed upon, it becomes easier for you to relocate. Even if you cannot automate your lifestyle in the manner in which Ferriss suggests, his advice, regarding using economist Vilfredo Pareto’s 80/20 principle to de-clutter your life, is worth the price of the book alone. Ferriss’s blog is at www.fourhourblog.com.

Ramsey, Dave, The Total Money Makeover, Thomas Nelson, Inc., Nashville, TN, 2009—Ramsey’s best-seller tells you how to:  (1) get out of debt through his “debt snowball” process; (2) build an emergency fund equal to 3-6 months income; , and (3) free yourself from being a wage-slave. This is good stuff. The President, and every member of Congress, should be forced to read Ramsey’s book.
